In this episode we talk about Chuck DeGroat’s book called, When Narcissism Comes to Church. The church is supposed to be a place where people can feel safe and welcome. Unfortunately, too often narcissism in the church leadership and structures breaks down that safety. I don’t know many pastors that have not been the victim of narcissism in some church setting. In this episode, Chuck, talks about how one can identify narcissism in the church. He also talks about how one can recover from narcissism rearing its ugly head in the church. We also talk about the importance of understanding trauma and what that looks like in the body. Chuck is a clinician and has worked a lot in the church world with people who have been hurt by leadership. He is also a very gracious person and that comes out in this episode. This is a really helpful episode that you are going to get a lot out of. If you our someone you know has been hurt in the church then Chuck is an incredible resource.
